Dear BEP, Stop Making Music.

Dear the Black Eyed Peas;

Please, please, PLEASE, stop making music. You were never a Rihanna; made good music at the start of your career, and then let it fall off over a few years. Nor were you a Justin Timberlake; made poor music at the start of your career and let it get better as time went on. You’re more of a Nickelback; you become more popular because you are more hated than you are loved.

As with many people, I did not enjoy your music from the very start. Your music is not good enough to be truly loved by many people, but it is just catchy enough to land in some STD-infested dance clubs as remixes that no one listens to anyways because they are too busy grinding on some rando.

The biggest problem I have with you isn’t that your music is catchy, but all of that autotune crap is not good music.

Who else out there remembers their Superbowl performance?? It didn’t even sound like BEP because there was no autotune in their voices. It wasnt even catchy because their horrid voices covered the sound of the electronica in the background.

There are few things that I fear more than the release of a new BEP single; “Oh, they spewed out a new autotuned, electronic song? I sure hope they didn’t use music from some past artist to gain attention in hopes that people will be reminded of the old song and begin to like their new garbage. They did? And people are eating it up? what a shame.”

So BEP, please stop reusing lines from old, famous songs. If you can’t be clever enough to come up with ALL of your own material, you shouldnt be making music.

Everyone in the world who enjoys good music.

The Paradox of Our Time (via BAGUIONIVERSITY)

This is a wonderful insight into our lives. Lets hope many people are able to read this and learn from it. Pay it forward.

The paradox of our time is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less. We have more knowledge but less judgment. We think too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, read too little, watch TV too much. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We’ve added years to life, not life to years. We’ve been a … Read More

Wonderful Weekend

So as i had previously posted,  i was going fishing on Lake Michigan last friday (ive never been so excited to wake up at 330am!) and i would post the awesomeness that ensued.

The first picture is the Waukegan Harbor at about 5:30am.

A few side comments: 1. that is the boat we took out, Challenger II. 2. Captain Bob is the best fishing boat captain youll find in Waukegan. 3. I got to go out fishing instead of working in the office; winning!

Here is the biggest fish i caught on the day; a 17 pound King Salmon! Its not going to put me in the record books, but it was awesome! 🙂

And the last picture was our haul for the day. With 4 guys fishing, thats 2 a person! And Captain Bob fileted the fish for us and so each of us got to take home something like 10 pounds of salmon. What a day!

Also, on Sunday i participated in the first annual Pancake for Payton FUNdraiser volleyball tournament. Let me just start off by saying that even though i coach volleyball and partake occasionally in the pool or sand, i have not been able to play in any indoor, competitive, 6 on 6 play since junior year of college (about 2.5 years) so i was a tad bit rusty. And i played on a team that i only knew 2 people. And we played against some people we knew, who won the national tournament at their level. So needless to say, it was quite difficult for us to win. But regardless it was great fun! Lets hope that they continue to hold this event and the turn-outs can get even greater in the future.

What Is The Sound Of No Fans Clapping? (via Up Next In Sports)

Here is a picture from the day game of the day-night doubleheader between the Florida Marlins and the Cincinnati Reds. Normally this would not be an exceptional picture, except for the fact that only *347* fans showed up. Yep, you read that right, 347 fans. Read on.

What Is The Sound Of No Fans Clapping? This is a shot from Game 1 of a Marlins-Reds doubleheader, where there were only 347 fans in attendance, at a stadium that can seat over 38,000 for baseball games. You can blame the fact that it was a rescheduled game on work day with Hurricane Irene approaching, but then there's the Marlins' 58-72 record and their MLB-low average of 18,241 paid fans per game. Either way, I hope the sound of crickets chirping or pins dropping didn't distract the … Read More
